When your wedding is in March in Calgary, it may say spring on the calendar, but the reality is a bit more likely to look wintery (without the hassle of the bitter cold temperatures.) So what do you do this month that does not fit the traditional spring theme? Bring on all the GLAM, precisely what Hanna and John did for their wedding day. With all the rich moodiness displayed in every detail of their magic-filled day. Venue 308 is anything from ordinary and was the perfect venue for this intimate and luxurious wedding.

When Hanna was asked to describe her dream wedding, she used dark, moody, elegant, formal, luxurious, and intimate words. She talked about wanting dark florals and "booze" flowing flowers that are so deep they almost look black. But, of course, March has no shortage of deep and sensual flowers. Black Star Calla lilies, white Panda Anemones, magical Fritillaria-persica, and stunning black tulips were some of the shining stars in Hanna's bouquet. Still, there were many other beautiful blooms for this glamour event.

Hanna wanted the arch to be a show-stopper. So we created five pieces using chicken wire, allowing flexibility with the final design when we arrived on site.

Venue 308, the famous Jackalope, was the first piece to greet guests upon arrival and was rightfully adored with a lush and abundant display of deep, moody and luxurious blooms. A perfect collection to set the stage for the rest of this magical day.

The details of black floating candles were a complementary accent that added the formal WOW factor for this event. The shimmer of ambient lighting reflected the moody theme Hanna was hoping for. The pieces used to line the wedding aisle for the ceremony were later used to decorate the reception guest tables.
